We had a lovely morning this morning, for our #pyb19 event. While we didn’t get many bumps to paint we had some mamma’s and babies in.

Conversation flowed with chats about how friends or family viewed mums post birth having help, hormones, feeling isolated, coping with change be it baby one, two or more, what one granny thought of things now and more. We definitely can explore this subject further and I’m happy to facilitate a gathering of mums or an established group that would like to have open or one on one conversations.

? Let’s break the stigma that you should be on top of the world after baby is born, grateful that baby is healthy and ignore how you feel physically and emotionally. Let’s talk openly about putting plans in place for support, whatever that means to you. Let’s stop assuming that just because a mum looks well that she is doing OK.

Let’s all make a conscious decision to look after our mamma’s, wrap our arms around them and mother them as we should. It is a tough transition and we should make it easier not harder.

Signing off after a long week. Michelle
